Sorry for the wait

Admit it, you weren't expecting me to write anything for awhile. Well, I fooled you!

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know how my weekend went. It's not much of a weekend, but I did more than I usually do.

Friday night, Trudy came up! Yay! I hadn't seen her since break, so it was pretty exciting. Well, we went out to a town in North Dakota called Arthur. We danced the night away at a barn with a live band. The band wasn't very good, but we had fun anyway. I love to dance, and haven't done it for awhile, so it was a nice treat for me. We had tons of fun. There were usually alot more people there (it was only about half full), but the band was new so not many people have heard them. I don't know why.

Well, on Saturday, me and Trudy met her sister at Qdoba, which is a really good mexican restaurant. I had the best quesadilla. I got to meet Trudy's new nephew, Kolby Paul Nissen. Her main reason for being in the area, was because her nephew was getting baptised, and she was one of the god-mothers. Well, I spent most of the day with Trudy and got to hold the baby, he was the youngest one I've ever held. Unfortunatley, when I was holding him, he spit up on me, but his mom was right there, so she grabbed him quick.

Well, I finally got back to the dorms, and hung out with Natalie and Heather (I hadn't seen Heather for awhile, so that was fun). We just hung out and talked, I hadn't done that for awhile.

Well it was a pretty good weekend for me, hopefully I'll be home this weekend if I don't have to work.

Franchise-Record Crowd Watches FM Jets Win

Assuming their were plenty of novice Fargo-Moorhead Jets fans in the Carlson Coliseum's stands on Friday night, they had t have left with a strong first impression. The likelihood of their being "new" fans is pretty high, considering the turnout. A franchise-record 1,512 fans were in attendance as the FM Jets defeated the North Iowa Outlaws 5-3. The win extends the FM Jets lead in the North American Hockey League's Central Division to seven points.Playing their first home game in over three weeks -and with a large amount of fan support - the FM Jets took full advantage in the first period, striking for three goals. Two of which came on the power play.Chris Connolly (Duluth, MN), Jess Echternach (Bemidji, MN) and Ryan Cramer (International Falls, MN) paced the FM Jets to a 3-0 lead after the first period. However, any notions of a possible blow out were dashed early in the second period.Struggling to stay in the playoff, North Iowa would get right back into the game in the first two minutes of the second period. Derek Elliot scored a power play just 35 seconds into the period, followed by a Max Mobley goal at 1:20.The FM Jets were able to hold off North Iowa for another 15 minutes, before the Outlaws struck again on the power play. Brad Kruegar completed North Iowa's comeback with a goal at 16:33.The game was at a turning point. Would the FM Jets fold, or would they recover to regain control?Dane Bushey (Duluth, MN) answered that question moments later. With 57 seconds left in the second period, Bushey skated into the left circle, faked a shot that pulled North Iowa goaltender Jay Clark out of position, then manuevered to the right to plug the biscuit into a wide-open net.The goal proved to be the game winner, though Rody Selk (Minot, MN) tacked on a power play goal with 5:01 left in the game to seal the 5-3 win.North Iowa has now lost 16 consecutive division games, while the FM Jets find themsevles on a season-high five game winning streak at home.Bushey finished with a goal and two assists for the FM Jets, while rookie Brandon Richardson (San Clamente, CA) notched two assists in one of his finer outputs of the season. The FM Jets are now off until Jan. 28 and 29 when they host Bismarck and Billings respectively. Face-off is 7pm both night.

Sorry, I was just really excited and thought I'd let you in on some of the details of the game. I got this from the FM Jets homepage. It was a very exciting game. (Are you shocked, this is the second post I made this month)

Has it really been a month?

Well, hi everyone! Nothing terribly exciting happened to me for a while so I'll tell you all about the things that I think are somewhat interesting.

Classes started two weeks ago, they've been somewhat interesting. I have only had one speech class so far, so nothing real exciting to report. Construction management is ok, were just working on Resumes right now, I have only really had two jobs, it's probably going to be very short. Psychology is interesting. I like my professer, that's probably why I like psych. American music is allright, we really haven't learned too much yet because we really have only had 1 "real" class period. Poverty and discrimination has left me wishing that I would have paid better attention in economics, but both class periods were canceled last week!!! 3D modeling is just mainly review from the other class (I can't remember what it is called right now).

Sorry, that was a horrible paragraph.

Well I finally had a chance to feed my addiction on Friday. I went to an FM Jets game, and (YAY) they WON!!! I was so excited, and it was a very fun game to watch. I was kind of sad because they put netting up around the rink. It bugged me until I got used to it.

I recently found out that the Johnny Holm Band is coming to Fargo in February. The last time I went was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go again. I was surprised that both of my parents had been to see him before, I'm sure they feel old (joke)!

I talked to one of my high school friends the other night, and she told me that she was going to be in Fargo next weekend. I was very excited, because I haven't seen her since break. Her main purpose for being in Fargo is to see her new nephew become baptised (she's his godmother). I've seen pictures of her nephew and he is very cute! We also talked about going out dancing on Friday night. There is a barn in Arthur, North Dakota that puts on dances with a live band every 2 weeks. I am very excited because the last time I went was a lot of fun, and now I'll have my old dancing buddy back with me!!!

Before break I had annoying dial-up internet in my room. It was very slow. Well, when I got back, the dial-up wasn't working, so I had to go out and buy a wireless internet thingy. So now, my internet is much faster, and I can be online alot more than I used to be, more time to put off homework.

Well anyways, that's all I got for now, my brain is a little slow, it was the first weekend I had to work in a while, and I'm having trouble typing. Talk to ya all later!!!
