Franchise-Record Crowd Watches FM Jets Win

Assuming their were plenty of novice Fargo-Moorhead Jets fans in the Carlson Coliseum's stands on Friday night, they had t have left with a strong first impression. The likelihood of their being "new" fans is pretty high, considering the turnout. A franchise-record 1,512 fans were in attendance as the FM Jets defeated the North Iowa Outlaws 5-3. The win extends the FM Jets lead in the North American Hockey League's Central Division to seven points.Playing their first home game in over three weeks -and with a large amount of fan support - the FM Jets took full advantage in the first period, striking for three goals. Two of which came on the power play.Chris Connolly (Duluth, MN), Jess Echternach (Bemidji, MN) and Ryan Cramer (International Falls, MN) paced the FM Jets to a 3-0 lead after the first period. However, any notions of a possible blow out were dashed early in the second period.Struggling to stay in the playoff, North Iowa would get right back into the game in the first two minutes of the second period. Derek Elliot scored a power play just 35 seconds into the period, followed by a Max Mobley goal at 1:20.The FM Jets were able to hold off North Iowa for another 15 minutes, before the Outlaws struck again on the power play. Brad Kruegar completed North Iowa's comeback with a goal at 16:33.The game was at a turning point. Would the FM Jets fold, or would they recover to regain control?Dane Bushey (Duluth, MN) answered that question moments later. With 57 seconds left in the second period, Bushey skated into the left circle, faked a shot that pulled North Iowa goaltender Jay Clark out of position, then manuevered to the right to plug the biscuit into a wide-open net.The goal proved to be the game winner, though Rody Selk (Minot, MN) tacked on a power play goal with 5:01 left in the game to seal the 5-3 win.North Iowa has now lost 16 consecutive division games, while the FM Jets find themsevles on a season-high five game winning streak at home.Bushey finished with a goal and two assists for the FM Jets, while rookie Brandon Richardson (San Clamente, CA) notched two assists in one of his finer outputs of the season. The FM Jets are now off until Jan. 28 and 29 when they host Bismarck and Billings respectively. Face-off is 7pm both night.

Sorry, I was just really excited and thought I'd let you in on some of the details of the game. I got this from the FM Jets homepage. It was a very exciting game. (Are you shocked, this is the second post I made this month)
