Well, as you already know, I have started a new semester at school. Today on my way to work, I picked up a copy of our school's newspaper, The Advocate. In the paper, there was an article that, was a sad welcome back. A few summers ago, I took a film history class. It was very interesting, and I got to see many movies that I normally wouldn't have seen. We watched Birth of a Nation, several Charlie Chaplin films, The Graduate, and one of my favorites...Sunrise, a Song of Two Humans. It is a beautiful story and has very beautiful cinematography. I encourage you to watch it, I found most videos of it on YouTube, it comes in parts, but I think it is worth it. I bought this movie after I finished my class, and only found it on Ebay. It was shipped to me from South Korea. But, because it is silent, it doesn't really matter!
The professor that introduced me to this wonderful movie has unfortunately passed away due to complications from cancer. I am eternally grateful to this professor for opening my eyes to new experiences, because I doubt that I would have even considered watching a silent movie before I took this class. Thank you Professor Casselton!

I just watched Sunrise for the first time tonight. Twenty minutes in, I liked it but doubted it would hold my attention for the duration.
It did so more than most contemporary films do. I felt every emotion of the lead characters in a way that felt quite palpable.
That was a nice post about the movie and about your professor. Have a nice day.
